Thank a Veteran today!
November 11th, 2010 by Ruth Ann MacklinIt’s Veterans Day! So, let’s be sure to honor our vets and active duty military today. They have made so many sacrifices for our country.
If you are celebrating Veterans Day with children, visit Military.com for great ways to celebrate.
Visit Legacy.com. Its Moving Tributes page features videos dedicated to those killed in Afghanistan and Iraq. You can create a tribute for a loved one. Getting started is easy-and free. Tributes remain online permanently.
National Park Service is offering free admission today. What does that have to do with Veterans Day? The Park Service preserves important battlefields such as Gettysburg. There are also military parks and other historic sites.
Take a few minutes to watch this inspiring video as it explains the Meaning Of a Flag Drapped Coffin. I admit I never knew the significance… did you?? Please share it with the children you love and all others who hold dear the symbol of “Liberty and Freedom.”
And be sure to thank a veteran or active duty soldier when you see them.
